What kind of organization is the PTA?

Abbreviation for Association.
It is a voluntary organization that works in cooperation with parents, families, teachers, schools, and communities to improve the educational environment of children and promote their healthy growth.
At Sodeto Elementary School, the PTA started when the school was founded in 1969. Currently, we are working with the cooperation of parents and local people in various ways, such as watching the morning, various patrols, helping with school and community events, and collecting valuables.

Do I have to join the PTA?
The PTA is a voluntary membership organization, so you can freely decide whether to join or not.
In response to feedback from parents, we have decided to confirm the intention to join from 2022.
However, in order to support children's school life, we need the cooperation of as many parents as possible.
PTA will promote various reforms so that we can become an organization that parents want to join.

How much is the membership fee?
The membership fee is 300 yen per month x 3,600 yen for 12 months.
The membership fees received are used for PTA operating expenses and insurance enrollment.

The Steering Committee is the second most important decision-making body after the PTA General Assembly. Discuss and decide specifics regarding PTA management with the school. This year's Steering Committee consists of 26 members, and 17 or more will be required to attend. Members' opinions can be reflected through the Steering Committee, and anyone can view the Steering Committee.
